#120 Dave Chapelle

His cinematic track record isn't too great (remember Half Baked?), but the silver screen is pretty much the only place that Dave Chapelle isn't doing amazing work. His stand up special Killin' Them Softly, which originally aired on HBO in 1998, contains some fantastic material. But what has he done for us lately? Well, his Comedy Central series, Chapelle's Show, is reaching it's stride in a serious way. For a while the show was hit or miss, but recently the laughs have been steady and strong. The most recent episode (#204 if you're counting) is an episode-long recounting by Charlie Murphy of his run-ins with friend/rival Rick James. Chapelle's recreations of James' drug-fueled antics are laugh-out-loud funny.
